FAQs IT Programs

Edusharp’s IT Program along with the anchor program “Workplace Skills” is designed to bridge the skills gap between a fresh graduate and that required for entry level jobs in the IT/ ITES industry. 

Each of the courses in this program are developed as powerful e Learning modules with the unique Cloud Based practice labs that allow students to sharpen their skills through actual practice instead of just understanding concepts theoretically. 

Who can take the course?

The programs in this series are meant for fresh graduates in any discipline (including non-science graduates) provided they are sufficiently motivated and show an aptitude  for a career in the Software Development industry.

What is the Program Structure?

The FINITE program is structured as follows

  1. A set of Primer courses that introduce fundamental knowledge requirements for IT industry
  2. The Primer courses are followed by  custom designed specialisation programs, each of which address a specific entry level employment opportunity

In the introductory series, there are 3 areas of specialisation.

  1. The Database Programmer
  2. The Web Applications Developer – Java technology
  3. The Web Applications Developer - .Net technology

How are the edusharp IT Program delivered?
Courses in this program are delivered as self contained e-learning modules on the Excellere online platform. Students registered for the program will be provided access to a host of services that support hands on learning. Some of the key features of each course are

  1. Interactive instructional content with an expert’s  narrative explaining concepts in detail
  2. Demo videos that show  how a concept is executed in practice  in typical software development environment
  3. Quizzes that check comprehension and retention
  4. Cloud based lab assignments and practice exercises that students to build hands on skills
  5. Development Projects  that provide an opportunity for students to apply their skills in ‘real life’ applications

How is candidate performance measured?
At the end of the course students are assessed in 2 ways

  1. One, a comprehensive quiz that tests their  understanding of concepts and their contextual usage
  2. Hands on software development exercises to be performed on the cloud lab environment as per directions given

A comprehensive Skills and Competency Report is provided for each student

How does the certification take place?

On successful completion of the edusharp’s IT program, the candidate will be undergoing a certification program under supervision and on successful completion and clearance of tests the candidate will be awarded a Certificate of Merit.

The Certificate is an assurance of minimum skills required by the candidate for entry level development jobs in the IT industry.

What is the course curriculum?

What is the scope of work that the candidate would be doing in an organization and what would be the generic designation he/she would have?
Successful candidates would typically join as Software Engineers or Software Engineering trainees in IT organizations subject to fulfillment of other criteria specific to the hiring organization. On entry within an organization, they would be placed within development/ maintenance projects under the guidance of a Senior Software Engineer for 6-9 months.

How long would it take a candidate to complete the program?

The duration is different for each specialization stream. Assuming that the candidate spends minimum 3 hours/ day on the courses, he/she would be able to complete the program in 08 – 12 weeks depending on the specialization chosen.

What is the split between the time taken to take lessons online and practice sessions?

Wherever cloud based lab exercises are provided, 40% of the time to complete a lesson would be on the labs with a 50% time spend on lab exercises and the balance 10% is for quiz after each session / chapter

What are the pre-requisites for a candidate to join the program?

Graduate in any discipline from engineering or BSc with specialization in IT or Computer Science streams with a working familiarity of commonly used applications such as email and internet, a good aptitude for technology, strongly motivated to pursue a career in IT and ability to comprehend simple English.

What is the medium of instruction?

The medium of instruction is English. Technical terms are explained in sufficient detail using simple English terms and analogies; however a candidate’s fluency in English will help him/ her get through the program quicker.

What kind of internet connection is required to access these modules?
A standard broadband connection that is available in most cities is sufficient to access the courses. However to get the best experience of cloud labs, a good broadband connection is certainly essential.

How would the candidates be supported in case of queries?

  1. Email Help Desk Support – 9 am to 6 pm, from Monday to Saturday.
  2. Evaluation of Practice Exercises - 9 am to 6 pm, from Monday to Saturday.
  3. Group Chat Services – Once a week for a group/batch of students, chat schedules will be announced in advance. For group chat sessions, candidates will be grouped by course specializations and be invited for discussions at specific time slots.
